REVIEW: [35ABF07] Night of the Living Wage

So! It wasn't the last exit after all! Man, Marge has been on fire this season. Solid ep this week, with a modern spin on unions. Also, a very fluid episode; usually the good animation's here-and-there, but here it was every which way you turned! The conclusion was maybe a bit too convenient, but i...

REVIEW: [35ABF06] Clan of the Cave Mom

Gotta get back, back to the-- wait, wrong show. Good one this week. Marge and Luann going at each other's throats made for a good plot, but the Primal segments stole the whole damn show. They really captured the essence of the series (along with the many bodily fluids and tissues). And I liked how ...

REVIEW: [35ABF05] Lisa Gets an F1

From Saturn to the Sun, the thunder roars. Fun one this week. You all know I have a weak spot for episodes where the writers remember Lisa's a kid, and this one's no exception. For once we got an episode about Lisa overcoming a neurosis instead of developing one! Interestingly, a lot of the focus w...

REVIEW: [35ABF03] Frinkenstein's Monster

It's a lie! IT'S A LIIIIIIIE! This one started with a strong concept, but really petered out at the end. The idea of a Homer/Frink teamup was pretty fresh, Spivak had the makings of an interesting antagonist, and Marge's elation at finally having consistent personal time was amusing. Buuuuut... Lis...

REVIEW: [35ABF01] Do the Wrong Thing

I feel like I should use ChatGPT to write this or something. Amusing one this week. You gotta love Homer and Bart's particular brand of unethical father/son bonding, and it also doubled as a fun skewering of the mundane crap that is somehow treated as serious competition. But oooh, the high point w...

REVIEW: [35ABF04] Murder, She Boat

NERRRRRRRRRRRRDS! It's a celebrity-infused nautical nerdical murder mystery like the TV shows of old, and it's fun! It twisted, it turned, it faked out, it faked in, and of course it ended up being the guy with the biggest box office draw. As it should be! And it all wraps up on Comic Book Guy maki...

REVIEW: [35ABF02] Ae Bonny Romance

A headbutt to the ol' heart, this was. I liked this one. 'Twas a tale of love, male bonding and betrayal, the horror of destination weddings, cute animal videos, and violent displays of love. Bart and Willie's friendship was great, though I especially loved the chaos that led to that friendship; im...

REVIEW: [OABF19] It's A Blunderful Life

Oh, it's as if we were back in the olden days of Season 23! This was... eh. The plot was pretty recycled and strung together, and was resolved ridiculously fast, but most of the jokes actually landed fairly well. The flash-forward wraparounds were kinda lackluster, but didn't overstay their welcome.

REVIEW: [OABF22] Iron Marge

Man, you'd have to be crackers to hate this one. This was another good one. Not just good, but good. Like, a proper Classic Era episode: heartfelt! Relatable! Lisa actually acting like an eight-year-old! A wonderful tale of that nebulous part of a child/parent relationship where you take their pre-...
