Re: Roach is all up in this competition...
I'm sorry that I didn't comment on this earlier, but I have to say; this is DAMN funny. Certainly ain't PG by any stretch of the imagination, but damn funny nonetheless. Shame there wasn't a 'Special Mention' section in the awards - you'd have nailed that one for sure!

You're welcome.
Apart from anything else, I'm just glad that the wait is over. It was killing me.

Re: Winners Thread
*reads results* *blinks* *reads results again* ...Wow. Really; wow. I wasn't sure what I'd feel when the results came in, but it looks like 'pleasantly surprised' took first place. ;D I echo RL; a big thank you to all the judges, and kudos to the other winners. It was a challenge, and it was fun, t...

Re: All right; here's my hat in the ring.
Thanks, SO. And for what it's worth, I'm sorry that you didn't place. That was a solid piece of work you put out. :) WGY: Really? I guess some of the VAs are mispronouncing it. Still, thankfully that's the only typo. (Barring the herds of rampaging semi-colons. ;) ) :) And congrats on snagging first...

Re: Competition Discussion and Questions thread.
On the one hand, that bums me out, because I was hoping for a verdict. On the other, however, I'm glad, because I don't know, which means I haven't come in last. (If that makes sense.) I mean, I've waited this long - I can wait a little longer!

Re: The simpson's movie
I agree; I liked it. I liked it as a 90-minute TV movie; as that, it stood up really well, and pretty much delivered. As something that was ostensibly a theatrical release, however...it fell short. Which is both disappointing, and aggravating; disappointing, because after all these years, and all th...

Re: All right; here's my hat in the ring.
My pleasure. :) I doubt that'll be the way the writers put them together, but it was fun to build to something that big from something so small. And you never know, maybe it will be a case in WGY (if it happens there) of a certain young lady listening to her impulses over her arguments as regards a ...

Okay; here it is.
A short word of warning; this story has one use of strong language. Reader discretion is advised.

Re: Competition Discussion and Questions thread.
*nods* Okay; warning in the story attached, and in the thread when I post it on the board - gotcha. Fair enough; it suddenly occurred to me that there was a naughty word, and I didn't remember a rule about it, and I didn't want to be disqualified just because I didn't ask. So thank you for that.

Re: Competition Discussion and Questions thread.
Here's a question; what's the policy on salty language? (I ask because at the moment, my story has one use of, I dunno, call it PG-13/AA language in it.) Is the rule similar to TLZ (bad language only used in the show), or can we push the boat out a little more? (Not going crazy, obviously.)

Re: Competition Discussion and Questions thread.
Archonix, I sent you a PM question, but I suppose it'd be good to have it for the public record: Are competitors allowed to use beta-readers?
EDIT: Just to let everyone else know, it is indeed okay to use beta-readers. Whether or not you ask another competitor, is, of course, up to you. :p
