Re: Creativity Hour works thread

@Fernie: Damn, I really need to give this a good re-listen with the additional information you've given here, but it's a bit of an issue for me right now (I'm working at home now, thanks corona, so I'd have to unplug my sound system from my work laptop). But I really enjoyed it when I listened on Su...

Re: General Venture Brothers discussion thread

Another out-there theory: it occurred to me that the recurring skull motif (in the show's logo, intros etc.) might be a reference to Jonas Venture Sr.'s preserved head on board Gargantua-1. I'm fairly sure the writers didn't actually plan this (I say "fairly" only because that whole plot development...

Re: More YouTube Insanity

Sorry, Fernie, you got April's Fooled. I actually feel a bit bad about that now. :) (But not as bad as I feel for yelling "They've found a cure!" to Graham.) Graham and I got it on DVD, and I'd gladly invite you over to watch it, but... and... yeah. I wasn't lying, though: this video is titled "The ...

Re: More YouTube Insanity

EDIT: Please be aware that the below is an April's Fools joke . I'm leaving it up so the thread doesn't look surreal. I don't know whether this is part of supporting the isolation effort or what, but whatever the reason, The Joker is now free to watch on YouTube . I know, I know, this endorsement is...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

The original story was published in 1842, and perhaps people then were easier to scare with the idea of a lethal pandemic that can be anywhere and has already breached your safe refuge.

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

That sounds like an unironically good way to spend the end of the world as we know it. If inspiration strikes, you can always dedicate another hour.

Miss u: looks like it's straight out of "Twin of the Dead". Really good picture with a nice detailed background (Malibu Stacy!). The photo of the two of them is a great touch. The tears almost aren't needed, the picture would be just as powerful if she's just curled up and depressed without crying, ...

Re: OPINIONS: Twin of the Dead (WIP)

They should have spaces around them, as far as I'm aware. Also, this isn't really relevant to my comments, but in the current case, you're using them more as an alternative to brackets -- to insert a smaller, independent clause in the sentence --, a bit like I did there. And yeah, the bit about the ...

Re: OPINIONS: Twin of the Dead (WIP)

Chapter 4: OK, well-written and funny description right at the start. The writing continues good. The description of Sherri's improvement warmed my heart, despite the creepy context. The description of Terri's nightmares about Milhouse is very good. Maybe "pleading eyes" is a bit too heartstring-tug...

Re: A Very Venture Drabble Thread

One about the Monarch's obsessive enmity with Rusty. Refers a bit to events in the latest season, but nothing spoilery or that requires having seen it. A Butterfly Can Dream It starts in Wide Wale’s indoor pool, usually. I’m tied to a chair, roughed up. I don’t even feel any metaphysical fear of dea...

Speaking of Batman villains, here is a very cool picture of Two-Face. Probably NSFW due to some non-sexual nudity.

Re: Lump

B-17 and Starfire: Several people on DA said the same thing. It was a tough decision which to use. Also on a somber note, that very same plane crashed and burned. There were several major injuries and fatalities... Oh, I saw you mentioned that later in the thread. Very tragic, and extra disturbing ...

Re: A Very Venture Drabble Thread

Thank you, that makes me happy to hear!

By the way, did you get around to reading The Silence of the Sirens? You know I don't usually pimp my own writing, but you were the requestor, after all. I think you might like it.
