Re: Creativity Hour works thread

Thank you both! I'm not really going for a colour limitation (well, I don't want to use every single colour in the palette either, but that's just a taste thing). It won't have to function on an actual NES, after all. @Fernie: thanks for the con-crit, I might make her eyes bigger and see if it looks...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

My second try at making a roughly NES-era Zelda sprite. Two stages of a walk cycle. Work in progress; feel free to suggest improvements.

Re: RIP Phil Hartman

I've heard that theory too. It's not impossible, considering that Zapp looks like a younger, blond Troy McClure.

Re: REVIEW: The Error (original fiction, mature content)

I'm sure I've said many times that most romantic stories tend to leave me cold, but I do like infidelity stories or other love triangles, if done well, obviously. And this is done well. Both the story itself and the characters treated the situation with the gravity it deserved, and you left me guess...

Re: RIP Phil Hartman

Good grief, it's been that long? Still depressing no matter how you cut it. I only really knew him from his Simpsons work, but he was great.

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

@Alex: I haven't seen the episode your story's based on, but fortunately that didn't harm it in the slightest. From the title I was expecting a horror story, but that turned out not to be the case; very harsh and powerful, though. The writing is good. I especially like the ending after Alexandra lea...

Said it before, but the glowing eye effect is really impressive. The whole drawing is good (and scary). Love that she's still wearing her pouch as well.

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

Decided to make some sprites of alchemical illustrations. Not an alchemy buff, just going by descriptions in Huysmans' occult novel The Damned . in other flasks there were doves, sometimes rising towards the stopper, sometimes pecking with their heads towards the bottom, in a fluid that was black or...

Re: Work in progress and request for help: Treasure Hunt

It's what your story deserves! Also, if there's anything I've been harsh on, don't take it too much to heart. After all, it's been a while since you wrote it. Don't get me wrong: I totally think that it's better to describe the symptoms of someone's medical condition through the story rather than na...

You know I like this. Allison's expression is very good, and the shadow is terrifying. Great use of monochrome, and the glint of light on the knife is a nice touch.
