Re: Game Reviews

Celeste (2018) I came to know this game through GDQ. In SGDQ '18, they held a race, and in AGDQ '19, they had an "All Chapters" run, in the runner and commentators used all the kind of jargon and wording that convinced me I'd hate this game. Oh, it's a "hard game". Oh, it's &quo...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

That's a definite hooray! Happy to see it finished. They look exactly on-model, the design changes are subtle and interesting, and Maggie's "evolution" Is very imaginative. Great work, Stretch!

Re: The Nidotamer art depository, now less boring!

It looks gorgeous, with great use of colour and nice polish. I'm happy you put it out. It's our role as artists to take even the awful things of life and make something beautiful out of them, and to carry on the honour of those who were here before us.

That's a good, sturdy looking fence, Graham! 'Grats to you and your dad.

João Gilberto, 1931-2019

I neglected to post this the previous days, because I just wasn't in the right mindset. So I guess I'll post this now. Even if you never listened to João Gilberto, you've certainly heard him before. Even if you never knew his name, you're aware of him. If you've ever heard some kind of gentle Brazil...

Re: More YouTube Insanity

I don't know if you've ever watched Tridashie's Friendship Is Musical series, but it's a series of videos in which she takes lines of pony dialogue and sets them to bits of songs; and the associations are often very clever and imaginative (sometimes they're just meme songs, but they often aren't, an...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

Well, this might be going out of control, but I wrote another short story about Dainty Tunes. This one is more in the emotional/sentimental side, though: Cupcake Therapy.

Re: More YouTube Insanity

At the exact moment as I write it, SGDQ 2019 has raised three million dollars for Doctors Without Borders.

I'm in tears right now.

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

It took me way too long to catch up with the new bits, but I'm interested so far. The original part you wrote was disturbing and upsetting in the best way possible, so, yes, kudos for breaking my heart. Also, I neglected to put this up earlier, but those of you who were in last weekend know that I'v...

Re: More YouTube Insanity

Ah, so that was indeed you! My ears immediately perked up when I heard that name. I'm happy to have caught that live! :D Also re:SGDQ, I haven't been a fan of the music in between the runs this edition. I find most of these remixes really cheesy. But then, just after the SMB3 race, they played this ...

Re: More YouTube Insanity

If anyone missed the blindfolded Wii Punch-Out run, please check out as soon as you can. Easily one of the best moments in all GDQ editions so far.
