Re: The Nidotamer art depository, now less boring!

The first pic is totally adorable. The expression, the outfit, the teddy bear, everything here works. A nice dose of cuteness for my day. :) Second one is up to your usual standard, and looks like a tricky pose to pull off!

Re: Fernie thinks he can draw; cringe ensues

And this is how I celebrate my first day of paid vacations. Yes, this is 70's Genesis. As ponies. Ponesis. It's looks sketchy as hell, because, honestly, I started doing this just as a sketch, just to test if I could approximate their faces, and I just kept going and I found the result hilarious. Fr...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

So, I kept thinking of crossing over MLP characters with symbols from the region I live in, so here's Spike cosplaying as a famous monument from my hometown . Here's a photo of the monument , for reference. I can tell it looks a bit off model, but I found he looks cuter on paper than I had imagined....

Re: Fernie thinks he can draw; cringe ensues

Thank you, Chris! Yes, I think you're right about her head, though this one would be impossible to fix on paper. It could be done if I try colouring this.

Steve noticed in chat that her legs were lopsided. Also, I completely forgot the tail! So I fixed those problems, and now properly scanned it.

Re: Fernie thinks he can draw; cringe ensues

So after wanting to go back to drawing for months now, I decided to think of an idea that wasn't too difficult to execute, but still had to do with me and something I find nice. So here's Pinkie Pie trying chimarrão (or "mate") for the first time. P.S.: I was too lazy to turn on the scanne...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

Thank you for your comment, Chris! You're spot on about the beat fighting with the melody, and I'm hoping I can get the desired effect across once I'm able to play this start to finish. It's interesting: I was more afraid of the ending being too "edgy" and gratuitous, not the first verses....

Yes, that does deserve its own thread. Yes, my mind is blown. No, I've never read the original Akira, but I'm still impressed.

I mean, jesus.

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

This is a song I started writing several weeks ago, but progress was halted for a number of reasons. It's another song for piano and voice, but this has a very different vibe, something accidentally Radiohead-esque. I thought of having this floating haze of piano chords in broken rhythms and my voic...

Re: I went to see a couple of movies

Not trying to steal the thunder, but I guess this thread is convenient, so I'll just talk about the movie I saw last Saturday on DVD. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again ... yes. I did this. I allowed myself to go through it. I think I mentioned here before, but I can't stand the first movie, but this year,...

Re: Game Reviews

So, Psychonauts I don't even know if this will be a "proper" review, because there'd be so much stuff to talk about this game--stuff which has already been discussed ad nauseam by reviewers much better than me--that I don't know where I'd begin or end. But I guess it's a pretty good indica...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread

Repeating what I said in chat, Chrisstory is developing nicely, going into interesting places, and the characterisation is still a big strong point. Fry is so good in this. May story is also highly enjoyable, a good piece of character study, and builds some solid emotion into a seemingly simple situ...
