Argh, tell me about it. I had to do a really uglkky hack to get any kind of alpha blending to work in IE with the site design.
Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.

There is a similar thing on another forum I visit, so I know what you're talking about. Don't worry about the avatar, though. The grey background doesn't really bother me.

A weird thing is that, at home, I am creating PNG pictures with Photo Editor (just like I did with the above one), and the transparency WORKS with my IE. The version is 5.0, iirc... So it seems like the older IE does show PNG with transparency, but 6.0 doesn't? Makes a lot of sense!
Or may it be that the Photo Editor I have at home is different from this one and saves PNG pictures differently?

It may well have saved it as a 256 shade png. They work more like gif with a single transparent colour instead of using alpha blending.
