The Coati.
I'm back to drawing animals. Again!
Well, I love them anyway, specially small animals. Oh, and all the canid family, the felines. Nah, what the heck. I like them all!
This is a piece I did on Alias sketchbook, tonight. Enjoy!
I got tired and didn't finish it. Maybe some other day.

Wow. Speechless.
Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.

I don't think you can improve on this. If you did, well, I can only assume it'd be photograph-like quality. I mean... this is so real-like... the eyes are so full of life, as is the rest of it. This is top-notch quality.
But you want critique? Okay...uhh...add a background, ya lazy bum!

Sometimes I feel like dressing up my Gaia avatar.
Feels kinda pointless since I don't actually do stuff at Gaia, so I'm putting it here.

Very cute! I like the subtle emotion in the eyes and ears.
Trace said he didn't see himself as an icon, but wanted to be a logo. Frank settled for being a font.

For some reason this picture reminded me of a bunch of old books by Gerald Darrell I liked to read again and again in my childhood.
I agree with everyone else, the drawing is cute and very impressive. Great work, Omar!

Thanks a lot for all the replies, guys. An artist does need some kind of motivation once in a while; even if being lazy, right Alex? I appreciate all you comments, suggestions, everything. Like the idea of adding a background. Whew! I think my hand will need some ice tonight again.

At the time I wasn't able to say anything constructive. Various reasons, not least of which is the fact that you're simply better than I am, so I'd feel a bit cheeky telling you what to do.O. Perez wrote: @ Terry: I knew what he meant, it was just , well... never mind.

I can only point out minor errors anyway, even giving it a through going over, and I imagine most of these are simply because I'm unfamiliar with the animal in question. The nose, for instance, seems to be a little crooked, specifically one of the nostrils seems to come in a little higher than the other, making it look like it's twisted at the end. And its left eye (our right) seems a bit... odd. But apart from that I can't really see anything wrong with it.
Kinda cute too...

Thanks for the comments, Graham. And no, I'm not better than you, man. We just have 2 different styles, thats all.
Its all a matter of opinions. Remember that you have posted lots of nice tutorials around the forum.

Now come on, you shouldnt be afraid to admit that you're better than someone. I think nobody here will get angry over it!O. Perez wrote: Thanks for the comments, Graham. And no, I'm not better than you, man. We just have 2 different styles, thats all.

Yeah, you can use the "different style" explanation to avoid doing comparisons and yes, i still didnt see anyone on gfwc pulling out such kind of realistic animals depiction, but this one simply rocks! It's professional level, and i dont understand why you're still not working at some art studio. Move, go I dont have any critic to give here, this is the wrong place.
I remain speechless to think someone i know and talk with came up with this I feel even kinda proud.

Re: The Coati.
I don't know what to say. Gee, I appreciate such flattery. I never knew it would give such impact. Now, I'm definatelly going to do more! A little bit more complex animals, this time (complex meaning in the way it is drawn)
Thanks, Simpreal!
