Anyone here write novels and is American?

The Gather.com First Chapters Writing Competition

My mother found this for me. Turns out I'm not eligible (only residents of the USA or the District of Columbia are allowed to enter), but I thought it might interest our writers across the pond. (Across the pond from where I'm writing, that is.)

Despite the somewhat misleading title, you're supposed to submit a complete novel, but only the first three chapters will be read and judged. (See the link above for explanations.) Deadline is March 15 2007, so you might not be able to write a full novel until then, but if you have something good lying around, why not go for it?

All right, you Yanks! Go out there and fight for the hono(u)r of the GFC!

*raises hand*.  I'm actually working on something that I *brag* think is pretty good */brag*.  Thanks for the link, Chris.

Having read the rules, I'm tempted to put work into three good chapters, then fill the rest with 'screw flanders'.

Hmmm...I can't sit still long enough to write a short story.  Let alone a novel.  But it's worth a shot, I suppose!
