The noose draws tighter;
This is the end;
I'm a good fighter
But a bad friend;
I've played the traitor
Over and over;
I'm a good hater
But a bad lover.

Random, fun: happy Star Wars Day!

And, uh, live long and prosper.

EDIT: Hey, maybe May's great-granddaughter can be May the Fourth.

I'm sorry Fernie, but I have to be grateful that you guys are having an Olympics.

Because it made this happen

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone’s fault. If it was Us, what did that make Me? After all, I’m one of Us. I must be. I’ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We’re always one of Us. It’s Them that do bad things. - Jingo, Terry Pratchett

Just found out that one person in the office next to ours has just had a baby, who has been named "Esme Adora".

Think the parents *might* possibly be Discworld fans.

Feels kinda pointless since I don't actually do stuff at Gaia, so I'm putting it here.

I've read books written exactly like that.

Good point.

It sucked then too!

I guess a lot of this could be averted if writers could just realise that 99% of people aren't going to be mentally describing their own ebon locks and massive breasts and taut abs all the time. (Of course, you could have a character who actually thinks like that because they're narcissistic or really focused on their looks for some other reason. That might be interesting.)

Good grief, don't get me started on the "Mass Effect" sex scene where we get a bunch of fanservice shots of Shepard even though she's the *viewpoint character*, my head is still hurting from facepalming so hard.

But... but I don't write like that! And that's relevant, because everything that's published on the Internet is necessarily, specifically about ME.
