Happy new year!

Post by gkscotty » Thu Jan 01, 2015 12:16 am

Farewell 2014!

Hello 2015!

I'm sat here listening to fireworks, drinking rum and whiskey (not together) and thinking of you guys. Lets have a good one this year.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone’s fault. If it was Us, what did that make Me? After all, I’m one of Us. I must be. I’ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We’re always one of Us. It’s Them that do bad things. - Jingo, Terry Pratchett

I had the whisky as well. I might be regretting it a little now, but what are new years for?

Sing reign of fair maid
With gold upon her toe
Open you the West Door
And turn the old year go.

Sing reign of fair maid
With gold upon her chin
Open you the East Door
And let the new year in.

Hope you've had a good one, everyone! And who knows what 2015 will bring...

I had no whiskey, but plenty of Twilight Zone episodes. Welcome, 2015!

We had sparkling wine and whisky in the house, but I completely forgot about the former. Now we need somebody to graduate or something, so one feels justified popping the cork.

I went to the beach for the eve. Took a bus on the 31st at almost 4 PM on the absurdly crowded station. The bus crawled across the three lane highway, but miraculously it took off halfway through the trip. Got there at almost 9, greeted my nephews, went to the shore near midnight, where we could see the fireworks going off in the town 20 kilometres away. Some moron started to set off fireworks very poorly at our own beach. They went off in crazy directions and exploded just a few metres above the ground. Eventually one set fire to the grass. I yelled at him and laughed my ass off. It was kinda fun. The following days were boring (I was graciously saved by Minecraft on my niece's tablet -- that's some fun stuff, but I still prefer Terraria), but now I'm back and ready for more.
