R.I.P Marlon Brando

Post by Bothead » Fri Jul 02, 2004 7:05 pm

Legendary movie actor Marlon Brando died today at the age of 80. I only ever seen one of his movies (I think it was called "In The Waterfront") and he was very impressive.
Before continuing, it may be in your best interest, dear reader, to stop and ponder this. Picture it in your mind's eye. An evil one-eyed midget named Cheatum swam across the Gulf of Mexico wearing a shark fin on his back and then planted a bomb on a boat. Think about that. Let that sink in. Now. Wouldn't you want to buy a wrestling show after seeing this?

I only saw three of his films, Apocalypse Now, A Dry White Season and The Godfather, in which he did an excellent job, though The Godfather is a little vague in my memory.

Ah, well. He didn't die an untimely death.

Awww, sad. I know he was older and had health problems, but it still sucks.

He was a great actor, and will be missed. His performance in Apocalypse Now! will always be one of my favourite moments in a film from any actor.

Noooo, not Brando! Sad to hear he died. :(

You know, the past two years or so, quite a lot of the greats of old-time Hollywood have died. Are any of the old school left?

Damn. Damn. And Sheana's right, too.

I whole-heartedly agree with Kenneth. Col. Kurtz was absolutely unforgettable. Damn.

Apparently a quite common way to go, almost five million people worldwide are affected with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

The disease involves scarring of the lungs, causing the air sacs to be replaced with scar tissue, preventing oxygen from entering the bloodstream. There is no effective treatment.

The disease is believed to be the result of microscopic injury to the lung, caused by inhaled environmental and occupational pollutants, various diseases, certain medications, and therapeutic radiation.

(According to The Internet (a very reliable source), Marlon Brando was "strongly anti-cigarettes".)

So once you get it, you will die some day?
