Though now that I've had time to think and read the various theories on the 'Net, I'm not too upset about it.

Did anyone else scream when Snape killed Dumbledore? I screamed and dropped the book (about two inches onto the bed, but still).

Scream?  No.  But I started crying (for Severus of all people  ) right after it happened.  And then, sometime during the hospital wing scene, it his me that Dumbledore was really gone, and I lost it.  I was sobbing for the remainder of the book.

On another note: R.A.B.  I, like many, think it's Regulus (A. ?) Black, but the more people point to him, the more I wonder if that answer's too obvious.

Well, think about this.  In the fifth book, there was a strange locket at the House of Black that nobody could open, and that Sirius tossed in a box of stuff.  And Mundungus nicked some things of the Black's and tried to sell them...why else would that be his sole appearance in HBP?

The "Dung sold the locket" theory raises further, not-quote-so related questions about 12 Grimwauld Place.  Now that Dumbledore's dead, does that mean the location of the Order's headquarters is no longer secret?  Or, can no one new discover the location because the secret-keeper isn't alive to tell them?  I forget how that charm works, but if it's the former, and Dung left the locket in the house, then anyone could get it....

Well I have never liked Harry Potter, I guess I don't like the way that Jk rowling writes and I don't like the films either but I go to see them anyway coz' I am kinda bored In the holidays when they come out.

I feel guilty for not crying, although I did get misty-eyed. It still hasn't sunk in, yet.

Why, Snape, why?

Actually... I got more upset... about Harry and Ginny breaking up  ...
But it just doesn't feel like Dumbledore's gone yet, you know? I just can't believe that it's real- it feels more like I read he got killed off in a fanfic or something.
*sigh*

Aside from that though... I loved the book. I liked it better than OoP: there were more laughs this time around, such as the mead glasses ramming themselves against the Dursleys (there was something else I really laughed at, but now I can't remember. Hmph.), the pacing seemed faster, and characters are expanded on more- Sheana mentioned Draco already.

A couple things I don't like: the new Minister, for one. For all his lion comparisons, he really didn't play much of a role in the book, or show much of his personality ("I want power! Help me, Harry!"). And I'm with Steve on Harry and Ginny's relationship seeming rushed. I suppose now that he's sixteen, he knows more what getting a crush feels like, so he recognizes it easier.

...But we don't really hear much about Ginny's feelings for Harry, aside from her comment on how even though she gave up on him, she still liked him and so on at the funeral.

Maybe in a day or so, I'll have stronger opinons. *shrug*

And Cherokee, what about the way J.K. Rowling writes don't you like?

I also nearly cried at Dumbledores funeral 'cos that's when it just made me realise he was really dead I don't know why I didn't cry though, I was just really deepressed for days though, just like how I was at the end of TOop. 

Many people I know don't want to read HP now it's getting too deepressing for them. I don't care though I am still going to read on, JK's writting just grabs me and I just can't stop reading, not sure what there isn't to like about her style of writting.  It's almost as if she really actually uses a magic charm on her books! lol

I got into HP though when I was about 9, so I've been a HP fan for about 6/7 years XD yay, though proberbly not as long as some people here.
I didn't start reading HP 'cos everyone eles was though, my teacher in year 3 read it to my class.  Never thought I'ld like the book but hey, it was great! Added excitment to my childhood at school really, lol

I'm sure Rob Grant and Doug Naylor weren't the only people to imagine the concept of emotions and such in liquid form.  I played RPGs where certain consumable items increased your luck.  It just happened that Rowling had a similar idea to one on Red Dwarf.

And let's face it.  In a world of magic, how can you not imagine a potion that increases your luck?
