New Classics

Post by Terry Y » Wed Sep 28, 2005 9:23 pm

A friend of mine just burned me copies of "Avenue Q" and "Spamalot."  Friggin' awesome, as I expected.  Anybody actually seen these shows?

I haven't personally seen either of them, but a friend of mine saw "Spamalot" on Broadway earlier this year. ^^

I wouldn't mind seeing Spamalot as well. It looks like fun.

I have heard good things about both.  My family considered going to 'Spamalot' this past summer, but the tickets were too expensive...

I know.  From what I saw online, tickets start at $65.  A little rich for my blood, but I'm seriously considering droping a similar amount for "Rent" when it comes to the Walton Arts Center in November.

Isn't Rent the one where everyone dies from aids? THey parodied that in Team America.

Well, I'm not sure of the actual story, but it's based on "La Bohemme."  So it's possible.  But it's supposed to be really good.

I'd love to see either of those if I had the chance or money (especially Spamalot... on Broadway... with the original cast  ;) ).  Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera are also on my list.

If you want to see Spamalot on Broadway, you should probably wait until November when Hank Azaria will return from shooting season 2 of Huff (and recording The Simpsons of course).

I have the CD of Spamalot and I loved it. "The Finland Song" and "Run Away!" are my favourite parts.
Before continuing, it may be in your best interest, dear reader, to stop and ponder this. Picture it in your mind's eye. An evil one-eyed midget named Cheatum swam across the Gulf of Mexico wearing a shark fin on his back and then planted a bomb on a boat. Think about that. Let that sink in. Now. Wouldn't you want to buy a wrestling show after seeing this?
