GFC In The Third Dimension

Post by Sheana_Molloy » Sun Jan 22, 2006 2:41 am

After an idle statement/thought in chat about how maybe I should make a version of The GFC in 'The Sims 2', there was much joking and chatter, things sort of snowballed, and I decided to go with the idea.  So, I actually went and made a household of GFC members in 'The Sims 2'!

There's unfortunately an 8 person household limit, so I could only do 8 people.  No offense to anybody who's not in, I just had to pick and choose arbitrarily.  If it were up to me I'd do a whole lot more. :)  Also apologies to those I did do, I tried to be at least fairly accurate, but there was a lot of guessing involved as well!  Biggest apologies to Alex, the outfit wasn't my idea, man. ;)

The ones I chose were:  Me, Chris, Graham, Terry, Alex, Kenneth, Soren and Fernie.  A motley crew if ever there was one!  Since we're all of a fairly similar age and some of us are still actually in school, I'm starting everybody off as Young Adults in University.  Luckily there was an 8-person dorm building available, so I shoved everybody in that and dubbed the building The GFC!

I'll be taking plenty of screenshots, and posting the life & times of The GFC Bots for all to enjoy.  I'm going to do my best to not interfere with the natural course of things, I'm just going to let nature take its course and enjoy the ride!  Hopefully everybody will pass school (or at least not die somehow in the process), if not, I'll just age everybody up to adults and start over. :P

Grab some popcorn, folks, and watch with me as the sordid story unfolds.  :D

Image

(Note:  The textures are pretty blurry here, the editor was acting up.  Everything will be much crisper and more detailed within the game itself.  Also, Soren chose the viking helmet of his own free will.  Be very afraid.)

Behold my works ye mighty, and despair!

*LOL* Brilliant!  ;D

Yet also very disturbing at the same time... It's like Milhouse once said, "I fear to watch... yet I cannot look away!"  :)

That's awesome, Sheana.  I could only recognize You, Graham, Chris and Soren (because of the Viking helmet description you gave earlier). I had no problem between you and Chris (only two females), and I have seen your pictures at Deviant art.

ROFLMAO!

I never use that acronym, but I must for this!  That's freakin' badass!  Though, I'm not sure who's who.  I recognize me (of course) and Sheana, Chris and Graham, but since I've never seen photos of anyone else, I'm just having to guess.

BTW, I used to have a shirt just like that one!

What an awesome idea.  Also, I wish my game's graphics looked that smooth.

Er, I'm having the same problem.  :P  I suppose I'll catch on as the story progresses.

Ahhh, what the heck.  I'll put up the first few screenshots I took tonight!

Image
Everybody materializes on the dorm lot, Casa de GFC, in a single-file row for some reason.  I just gave 'em the last name Bot, so it's SheanaBot, SorenBot, ChrisBot, and so on.  The adventure begins!

Image
Soren and Kenneth decide that, of the three hat-wearers, AlexBot's is the coolest.  Apparently completely infatuated with the Aussie Hat, the two of them follow Alex a good distance towards the back entrance as everybody else scrums at the front door.

Image
Geez, can you guys stand any closer together as you talk?  Personal space, people!  Fernie elbows Graham quite hard apparently, Graham doesn't mind.

Image
Everybody has claimed their own individual bedrooms at the dorm (complete with portrait on the door), but that doesn't stop the GrahamBot from invading Kenneth's room and taking over his computer.  KennethBot is not pleased.

Image
Didn't take long for half the GFC household to plop down in front of the television.  I think TerryBot chose the channel.

Image
The GrahamBot discovers the piano.  With gusto.

Image
And finally, the Viking In Repose.

Everybody's declared their Major now, they're either Art, Drama, or Literature, with GrahamBot the odd one out with Philosophy.  They've all headed off to their individual classes, we'll see what happens when they return.  More bulletins as events warrent!

(Big Brother Narrator Voice) Day 4 in the GFC house...

This could be the start of something big...at least on the website.
Before continuing, it may be in your best interest, dear reader, to stop and ponder this. Picture it in your mind's eye. An evil one-eyed midget named Cheatum swam across the Gulf of Mexico wearing a shark fin on his back and then planted a bomb on a boat. Think about that. Let that sink in. Now. Wouldn't you want to buy a wrestling show after seeing this?

The GFC: Hell on Earth!

Pretty hilarious so far, Sheana. I particularly like Graham's likeness (duh).

I'm terrified to see what antics ChrisBot will come up with. If Alex decides to clone her, I'll be afraid.

That is brilliantly bizarre.  It beats the crap out of Big Brother.
There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning....
And that, I think, was the handle - that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting - on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave....
So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
