Considering his name is the title, Lucas didn't get a whole lot of screentime. In fact, it's a little surprising that the episode wound up being more about Homer and Marge than Lisa and Lucas, which kind of works to the episode's benefit, though I would've liked to have seen a bit more of the latter pair.

Another good showing for Homer this week. I liked how they handled the tiff between Homer and Marge, pointing out that Marge is being a bit of hypocrite (if unintentionally) and not marginalizing Homer's feelings. I'm still on the fence about whether the father-daughter dinner-date was cute or creepy, though. The writers were definitely going for cute, but it just kept rubbing me the wrong way.

I liked the subplot as well. Good showings from Bart, Milhouse, and even Snake.

Hah, I was just about to remark upon the strangely creepy Lisa/Homer dinner date. IDK why Marge or Lisa would ever worry about her marrying a guy like Homer, when Homer's been repeatedly show to be a hard working sweetheart deep down.

The takedown of competitive eating was a tad bit cruel as well.

But ahh, I love Bart trying to help out Snake.
