Holy...
This is both exciting and unsettling.

I memorized "Holy Grail" really well
I can recite it right now and have you ROTFLOL

Yeek!
The fact that the language and perhaps situations in the movie will be a bit edgier than what's on TV worries me a bit for some reason...

I still have my doubts.
They keep talking about it so its just gunna end up like the boy who cryed wolf. When they actualy start, and even if they've already started I'm still gunna be very skeptical about it.
I hope so though. Should be good viewing.

Could you possibly tell us though whether this recent Hans Zimmer news is true? And if so, why Elfman and/or Clausen aren't doing the movie?

I haven't seen the Family Guy movie myself, but I can't imagine how they could split a single theatrical movie into three parts, each with a different director, and still keep things coherent.
Unless this is actually a direct-to-DVD movie that FOX plans on splitting into a three-part story arc, like the FG movie?

Two guesses: my best guess is that they'll do what they did with Family Guy - their "movie" (the Stewie Griffin one they released last year) was released as a direct-to-dvd feature, but has been scheduled to be split into three half-hour segments in the syndicated package. I presume that's what they're going for here - and that the actual Simpsons movie we've all been waiting for will be released as promised, when the show ends (whenever that will be - I sure don't know, they just signed for another three years).
My other guess: it really will be a feature-length movie- like Trilogy of Error, with each segment directed by a different guy as suggested above.
Either way, I'd like to kindly take Fox's hand and say: Fox, I like the Simpsons. I like Family Guy. They are two different animals. I do not need to hear Homer Simpson say the f-word to be entertained. Please stop trying to cross-breed an elephant with a field mouse.

Three parts? What is Fox going to air three new episodes in a cinema (minus commercials) and call it a movie?
Well...it'll make a lot of money...

I doubt the three parts will be totally different... just like three acts, each one being directed my somebody different. Even episodes have had multiple directors before. It's no big deal, especially when it comes to animation that has such a defined look at OFF.

Aren't they going with Zimmer, because James L Brooks always uses him as a composer? I find it quite dissapointing, not only because I don't care for Zimmer at all, but Alf Clausen knows the feel of the show well: if one thing didn't decline over the years, it's the music. And Danny Elfman just kicks ass

Zimmer is okay, but... yeah, Clausen has a real feel for the show, and would be the best person for the job, IMO. If he's working along with Zimmer, I have no issues. I'd still like, in either case, for Danny to to a kickass extended opening and closing theme tune, if nothing else.

Damn. Seems I've predicted the opposite again.
Well, this can go two ways, good or bad. I'll leave the rest of my opinion untill I've watched it. No more predicting...
