Quotes:
"That trailer is running on 7,000 screens this weekend, committing us to opening every place in the world on the same date, which means, we'd better get started." -- James L. Brooks, March 06
"We've taken script security to the point of lunacy, though it helped that we wrote it in Aramaic." -- Mike Scully, March 06
"We've also set Albert Brooks, Minnie Driver and the real Erin Brockovich, so you should be able to deduce the plot just from that information." -- Al Jean, March 06
"We tried to save this until the end of the series, but that intention was undone by good ratings." -- Matt Groeing, March 06
"The movie has been so daunting, and the contract between us has always been to wait until we all felt the script was right. We tell a feature-length movie story with each episode, but we feel we now have a story and script worthy of a movie. And there was so much secrecy that it's actually a relief to be able to speak about it now." -- James L. Brooks, March 06
"This was was enormously challenging, because it involved filling 120 blank pages with an actual story and words people say" -- James L. Brooks, April 06
"We're very excited about the performances in this movie. Come next Oscars, we think it's going to be Milhouse's night." -- Matt Groening, April 06
"I can absolutely guarantee that this film will far exceed the wildest expectations of every Simpsons fan. Start lining up at the theater now, preferably in costume." -- Al Jean, April 06
"The movie is a result of the very singular vision of eleven people" -- Mike Scully, April 06
"We have all watched The Simpsons evolve from a groundbreaking television series into a global cultural phenomenon and everyone at Fox is excited about its leap to the big screen" -- Chris Meledandri, President of Twentieth Century Fox Animation, April 06
"Well, it's called The Simpsons Movie and it's coming out in America in July and that's all I can tell you. To be honest, I'm kind of curious to see how it will go over. The Simpsons is not a feature film format. I had a great time doing it, it was a nice challenge, but you just don't know if the public will take to it." -- Nancy Cartwright, 23rd April 06
"I've already signed like 18 confidentiality agreements. I think they have rights to my first-born child if I talk about this movie." -- Hank Azaria, 15th May 06
"I am doing, I think, three lines! Sideshow Bob is pretty famous for trying to kill Bart, so I’m sure it’ll be something like that." -- Kelsey Grammer, 25th May 06
"It’s been rough. We worked at it for a long time and then found out that Snakes on a Plane was doing the same story." -- James L. Brooks, 22nd July 06.

I highly doubt that any of those plots are real, they said they would release false bits of information over the internet to throw people off. But yeah, I'm very excited about it.

But what Nancy actually mean by "I had a great time doing it"? The series, or the movie?? I mean, it can't be the movie already...

Re: The Official Simpsons Movie Thread
The movie. The actors have apparently all recorded the dialogue for it, though they'll no doubt pop in again several times for changes as things go, just like with the series.

Recording the dialogue is actually a pretty early step in the process, and the movie is coming out next year.Jake Chambers wrote: Hm... i CANNOT WAIT!

If any of you have comcast on-demand in the states, you can watch the trailer on your tube through the "In Theatres" option in the movies interface.

Re: The Official Simpsons Movie Thread
I'm a bit concerned that they're using two different animation studios for the same project (will consistency be an issue?), but I know Rough Draft does excellent work, so I'm not worried about who's doing the movie.
