Question: What if Fox merged the production of the Simpsons with a reality show format?
The Idea: Get 12 hardcore nerds together who think the Simpsons have "Jumped the Shark!" (I hate buzzwords) and give them three months to attempt a production-quality script. Besides the usual script debates in the writing room, the show would follow them around ala "The Real World". The obvious prize for the 12 would be to have the episode animated and broadcasted, but the grand prize would be one of the 12 would get hired on as a full-time writer.

It would be very nice. A chance for the fans to show their mettle. (Of course, I still wouldn't watch it, it being a flippin' docusoap, but I would sympathise with the concept.)

Hmmm... Can't say I like it, and I can't say I don't like it. I mean, it has good and bad things. If we saw the Simpsons played by real people, as in a sitcom, we would see what the characters would look like in real life, which could actually be good or bad. We love the characters as we see them, and if we see them through reality, it could be, you could even say... disturbing. Nick Magazine did an article called "Reality Check" in thier April 2001 issue, which featured several cartoon characters as they would look in real life, Including Bart and Lisa Simpson. I was without a doubt, disgusted. And let's not forget the season 17 couch gag! On the plus side, in some odd, subliminal way, seeing the Simpsons as a sitcom could give us a little "Happy Place", if you will, or, in the words of Hal from "Malcom In The Middle": A "Gray Area" to make us think, that maybe, somewhere, there might be a real Simpson's Springfield. THAT is a wonderful upside, the way I see it. So, in conclusion, I feel in-between on this topic.

I think you've misunderstood, addictive. When J2 said "The Real World", I believe he was talking about the writers, not the cartoon characters. (that is, if I'm not misunderstanding)

i heard that popularity aint all what its cracked up to be why am i so stressed i should study on grades and do my best im upset anious freaked out impateint this is the second rought draft of my poem the other replaced it i had to start all over again makes it hard to take this to the end so i shall say in every way i hope my names rembered for high school in a good way this is a discarce how can i face starting a new popular life hopefully ppl there can respect me stress shouldnt have to be everything begging pleading let me do well all this compotion i feel im in HE** but i shall go this may drop out hope that school ill have no doubts...
for now im stressed but again im fine im ending this now i dont have time
