South Park and The Simpsons will square off against each other for the Emmy for outstanding animated program.

Nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmys were announced this morning. Matt Groening's long-running series is represented in the category by "Once Upon a Time in Springfield," while the Matt Stone/Trey Parker series is represented by "200/201."

Other nominees in the category include Alien Earths; Disney Prep & Landing; and The Ricky Gervais Show.

Cartoon Network dominated in the Animated Short-Format category with nominations for Adventure Time; Chowder; The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack; Robot Chicken; and Uncle Grandpa. The only non-CN nominee was The Disney Channel's Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil.

In the voice-over category three Simpsons performers will compete against each other: Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, and Anne Hathaway. They will also be competing against H. Jon Benjamin for his work on Archer; Dave Foley for Disney Prep & Landing; and Seth Green for Robot Chicken.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold scored a nomination in the Original Music Composition (Dramatic) for "Mayhem of the Music Meister," and the Family Guy song "Down's Syndrome Girl" was nominated in the Music and Lyrics category.

The Simpsons: 20th Anniversary Special—In 3-D! On Ice! was nominated for Outstanding Children's Nonfiction Program, and Cartoon Network's Ben 10 spinoff movie Ben 10: Alien Swarm was nominated for special visual effects for a miniseries, movie or special.

Winners will be announce on August 29.
Specfically, Dan is nominated for "Thursdays With Abie," Hank is nominated for "Moe Letter Blues," and Hathaway is nominated for "Once Upon a Time in Springfield."

"Any pile of stunted growth unaware that entertainment is just that and nothing more, deserves to doom themselves to some dank cell, somewhere, for having been so stupid!! Movies, books, T.V., music - they're all just entertainment, not guidebooks for damning yourself!" - Nny

I draw too, dammit!
