MONARCH: What?!?

SO when does the next season start? Next year? I can't wait that long!

Both parts, absolutely brilliant. The "Previously on Venture Brothers" scene was awesome. Well, too much (and too many plots) to touch on in detail. David Bowie was pretty great, and Dean's hallucination was appropriately non-sequitur-ish. I love the character designs in it, as well.

My thoughts on the cliffhanger:
Spoiler
I really like the Order. J-T and the Alchemist (and the Star Wars alien, forgot the name of his species) complement Dr Orpheus excellently. Let's hope they'll be regular supporting characters, as seems likely. (OK, maybe not the alien.)

More about the hallucination:
Spoiler
I can't wait for the next season, either.
Spoiler
So, to sum up: man has this series gone through changes since Season 1. From a semi-badly drawn gross-out parody of adventure cartoons to a well-drawn and almost dramatic comedy/parody (with gross-out elements, of course). I always found it funny, but now... it's my favourite current TV show, simple as that.

And they've improved Brock's character from a mindless killing machine to one of the funniest, subtlest characters on the show. Sehr gut.

JT and Al are hilarious, they compliment Orpheus well, I think.  "Man, your shirt's so loud my ears hurt."  "Yeah, I'm disguised as a small tubby gay guy that likes Jimmy Buffet."

The show's so damn quotable, man.  Alas, VB, why did you have to have only 13 episodes per season?

It's good that at least there will be a Season 3 (apparently it says 'The Venture Brothers Will Return' during the end credits of Part 2), rather than there being a question mark over the whole thing like last year.  Hopefully they speed production up this time around, too!

I just realized the Alchemist is voiced by Dana "Master Shake" Snyder.

How did I miss that? He's got that Shake delivery!

"That is the gayest thing I've ever heard of! And remember this is coming from a guy who voluntarily has sex with men!"

"That guy we made? All over the windshield."

Late to the party with final thoughts:

Good gracious, this was a good episode.

Character development for Dean continues!  Sure, Hank got to actually DO more stuff, but Dean was a revelation here.
Spoiler
They've succeeded in sepparating Hank and Dean into two distinct, sepparate characters, for which the PTB used to get a lot of grief.

The usage of David Bowie and Iggy Pop was completely awesome.  Anyone have a tally of how many song titles were banded back and forth in dialouge snippets?  How I love the fact that this show is written by such unashamed fanboys!

Did anyone else notice that

I love the huge battle scene.  Seamlessly animated all around.

The only thing that's nagging me about the ep is that
Spoiler
Well, I official give more of a damn about the characters on this show than any other set of characters currently airing exploits on (as) ('Frama doesn't count - it's about to become a Comedy Central show ;-) )

Has season 3 been officially greenlighted?  I have no idea how ratings have been, but considering how well sales of Season 1 went on DVD, I imagine CN/AS isn't willing to get rid of a new cash cow. Does anyone know?

OH I cannot cannot wait until next year for the new season, Graham.  You have pull on this, make them go faster!

If my beloved Dr. Sheila Girlfriend is a trannie, I will be bummed out.  The low voice thing is funny because she is a woman.  Otherwise, it would just be meh.

I reckon she told the Monarch that she slept with Venture, because somehow I doubt that was part of his original plan for her that night. Also that she's pregnant with Venture's spawn.

But if it was a farback pregnancy like that, wouldn't she be showing by then?  Well more than a few months have passed in the show's timeline, there's been enough time for Sally Impossible to get pregnant and have Rocket and everything, after all.

*dispensing with spoiler tags since we're talking about an old ep*

Hmm - can anyone figure out how much time's passed in-canon thus far?  If we're using Sally Impossible and Rocket as a yardstick, then it's been around fifteen months since Ice Station Impossible (eight months for Sally's pregnancy - she had to be far enough along for it to be detectible, and depending on how far along she was without being able to show - plus I reckon Rocket's around seven months old).

I've seen this episode a couple of weeks ago, and I think its the best! The marriage of Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend (what I wouldn't kill to be a bridesmaid in that ceremony) and the battle was the greatest!

And Brock Samson helping the Monarch's henchman rally together to rescue thier queen! Godly! Just Godly! He is a natural born leader that must be worship! Woot!  ;D 8) ::)

*shuts up now*
