Winners Thread

Post by archonix » Sun Dec 21, 2008 1:17 pm

Well after a great deal of wrangling, we've had to put the winning to a judges vote. The winners are

1st place: The Sorrows of Young Werner - Wilde Grey Yonder
2nd place: Michelle Shock - RedLine
3rd place: a joint prize for Leela Lets her Hair Down - THM; and Cedar Tree - Lisabella

So once again the quality of all the stories entered was incredible but, as always, we can only choose a few to actually win. It was tough making the decision. I, personally, would have put the order a little differently but the other judges and their various blunt instruments were very persuasive.

The judges this year were:

Assistant Crone
Lord Kingsley
Shockwave
And finally me.

Winners who want their certificates mailed to them on nice high quality paper should leave me a PM or send an e-mail to the address in my profile. I can send you an image to print out yourself but it won't be nearly as nice.

I won't be judging next time. The stress of it is really rather too much... :)

*takes a bow*

Standing ovations to the other winners (I haven't read all your fics, but believe me when I say that the ones I have read were great), and thank you very much Graham and the other judges for making this possible.

It's been an honour to compete here, as always.

Congratulations to all winners!  ;D

To Wilde Grey Yonder, RedLine, THM and Lisabella. Wow.. with such a collective of talent I'm glad I didn't participate.  ::)

Hey, Soylent, sorry that you didn't make the top tier.  :-[

Thank you to the judges and congrats to the other winners.  It is an honor, and I would be remiss if I didn't also say, quite a rush, to be able to participate in this competition.  :D

Before I get a sack of ice for Graham's fevered brow, I'd like to say congratulations to the winning writers and yay for everyone who entered. Although some people couldn't make it this year we still had high-quality fics that were fun to squabble about (no, really), and the winners thoroughly deserved their places. Hope to see you all next time!

...Wow.  Really; wow. I wasn't sure what I'd feel when the results came in, but it looks like 'pleasantly surprised' took first place. ;D

I echo RL; a big thank you to all the judges, and kudos to the other winners. It was a challenge, and it was fun, to participate. I look forward to the next time.  :leela

I don't know how it is for others, but when I look at your profile, your e-mail address says "hidden". ???  Fortunately I have it elsewhere but thought I'd mention it.

Congratulations to all the participants. As much as I wish I could have done so myself, it still fills me with joy to see so much talent still active out here.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
