I never really thought of that while I was doing it, but I just needed a free-flowing outfit. Speaking of indian look, Archonix has got that one with Leela that I just love to pieces...

I attribute this sketch to peer pressure...my friend at work wanted to see what Amy would look like as a nun. We've all seen this as a gag in various tv shows as well, and it might be a funny one in Futurama someday. Boy, she sure looks like she means business with that ruler... :amy

BTW, as a sad note, my former co-worker that suggested this image recently passed away. Bobby, you gave me some great ideas brother...

This was done on the same page as my "Sister Amy Wong" in my sketchpad, and was meant to commemorate my visit to the UCLA campus. She could have easily been there, texting away with somebody somewhere. I think she looks really good in these colors. I do think it's funny to have her represent this school, as I earlier had her as an ASU Sun Devil - the two would definately be a rivalry on the football field! This is so fun... :amy

Going back a bit to review your first pictures, since I haven't done so yet. Don't worry, I'll get up to speed eventually.

Good and Evil Amy, first take: nice idea, but her head looks a bit off balance. Her body and clothing looks very real, though. Kind of a nice comic-book style feeling. I like her wings.

Second take: Fry looks off-model in this one, perhaps his overbite is too short. Amy looks good, though. (Well, not the right word under the circumstances...)

Third take: nice, substantial shading, and a nifty guitar. Definitely very tactile.

I'll be back with more reviews...

Amy and Leela are easy as pie to do. Fry, however, seems to be harder to get just right. I also have a bit of trouble with Homer, as Marge seems to be really easy to do (something about the shape of his head and the placement of his eyes...I seem to let them ride too low for some reason). Bart is fairly easy to do, but Lisa takes a little work on those hair spikes. You seem to find really interesting pictures for your icons, if I might say so.

BTW, I hate to keep crowding the board, but I've felt the need to resubmit some of my old sketches when they need improvement. Thanks for everyone's patience.:fry

This is something I whipped up for an exploration of another project; it takes place in the late 1960's, so I wanted to see what Amy would look like in a mandarin dress. Nearly a year ago I did a pencil sketch of Leela in a similar outfit based on the photographer girl in "Dr. No." In my sketch for this project I also tried a more traditional chinese hairdo, but it didn't work so well. I enjoy doing this stuff, but I must admit that I'm no fashion designer; I'm just a clever chimpanzee that imitates what he sees. :amy

p.s., I just corrected for some rather sloppy marker work.

This was a second research sketch that I enjoyed doing. As I researched 60's fashions, one thing kept popping up - the Mondrian print. I wasn't seriously thinking of using this idea, but she does look kind of cute like this. :amy

I love this look for Amy...she's probably got tickets for the Kinks concert for tonight, and then she's going to hang out with friends to watch that new show called "Star Trek". I would so love to take credit for the genius of this picture, but truthfully I based it entirely on a photo I ran across while digging up 60's fashions - I don't even know who to give credit to for the picture (the asian gal in it was really cute). All I did was to slightly change the color of the boots to silver, instead of the silvery-pink that they were. I think the hair really worked out nicely. I think that they should do an episode where they go back to the 60's...the bit in "Farnsworth's Parabox" was funny. :amy

They sure knew what they were doing back then. ;)

I so love these explorations...I love those dang boots! Hang on, I've got a Morgan Proctor on the way within minutes.

BTW, I listened to my Who collection as I drew this up.

Here is the last of my fashion sketches for the Prisoner pic...I did this because I seem to remeber a woman dressed like this in the show. Isn't she cute as hell like this? With the hat? It looks like she's going to be in a Moody Blues video.

BTW, I re-did this because my wife told me that her outfit looked like a maternity dress...while this would have made Inez quite happy, it wasn't the look I was going for! :amy

The detail on the hand is really good (such well manicured fingernails). Little Amy pose is very nice too. levitra lawyers
