Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.

There's a reference to this in the show...

Because amphibians also dream of power...
There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning....
And that, I think, was the handle - that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting - on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave....
So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

I hope you'll hold the door for me a bit on this one - I actualy have a finished piece. Due to computer problems (and mainly router problems), I'm going to have to send this from a coffeeshop right around the cut-off time. I get off of work here at 7pm Indiana time, which I believe is midnight your time. I would hope to have the picture to you by 12:20 GMT. Even if I don't make the deadline, I'd still like to post it...it's fun. Thanks!

I'm thinking the deadlines are a bit tight anyway, I'm going to let things run a little longer.

Thanks...we had a router and my laptop bite it at the same time...luckily I got an old Epson scanner up and running to an older computer. I really have wanted to join in this contest - when I saw today's, I couldn't resist.

Finally, here it is. Kif isn't quite as innocent as we think he is when he's not in uniform. Hangs out in the rougher parts of New New York. What he wrote was a last minute idea...don't worry - he doesn't move his head left or right.

My co-worker cheered me through the whole thing. Check out the logo shirt - obviously a bad influence on him. I forgot what the prize was for winning...wasn't it a Venture Brothers bowl of gentle cuttlefish?

We have much to learn from peaceful aquatic mammals.
Yes I know cuttlefish aren't mammals, but they love like mammals.
