Sorry for the extremely late notice. I won't make it to the rewatch this weekend, so go ahead without me.

Just a note that I won't be around this weekend. In fact, I might be completely offline until Monday. Whether you might want to skip this rewatch or do it anyway, it's your call.

And with that, Simpsons Season 8 is ended. It's been a great time, folks! Very few bad episodes, lots of amazing jokes, generally a great series.

Futurama begins next week!

Well it's not Simpsons but as the rewatch thread, might as well say it here.

It's unlikely I'll be there for rewatch or persona 5 streaming this week. My friend's mom is getting remarried and I've been invited and all. I'll just be going to the evening party but still, probably won't be back for it.

We just finished Love's Labours Lost in Space.

What a great start for Zapp Brannigan.

That was the first Futurama episode I ever saw! It was a good way to get into the show.

(Also, you don't know how long it took me to get that the title was a pun on "Love's Labours Lost" and "Lost in Space", rather than just a joke about sticking "in space" at the end of everything to make it sound more awesome.)

Ah, I missed zapp, that stinks. Well at least he wasn't a one-timer!

IIRC they originally intended to have Phil Hartman do his voice.

Yeah, I was quite happy to see how many big appearances he got on the show. (And they made a joke about how he'd slept with Leela nearly every single time...)

Oh yeah, I heard this too. Explains why his design is essentially a blond Troy McClure. (None of the Simpsons crossovers ever brought this up, did they? Bloody waste of opportunity...)

Oh yeah, the bit about sleeping with Leela is kinda like the recaps they'd have each time Sideshow Bob showed up in OFF.

... Actually when you think about it, as an antagonistic semi-frequent face who's usually important he's kinda like Futurama's Sideshow Bob. Except instead of being a homicidal palmtree he's just a chauvinist that causes way more problems than he supposedly solves...

And something I kinda noticed is there is a tad of a Hartman voice in him, I think that's what Billy West was going for. To me he kind sounds a bit like Lionel Hutz if he was constantly trying to seduce you... again not too bad an analogy for Zapp.:P

I keep forgetting to ask earlier, but I'm going to be out Saturday.

Can we make the rewatch Sunday this week?

I don't know if I'll make it Sunday. I'll try, but if I can't, go on without me.
