TIL that Frank Zappa actually did have an album called "Weasels Ripped My Flesh".

Two good pictures. Fernie's has a great idea, and that's a lot drawn in one hour. A few proportion problems, but the bodies look good, the faces are funny and personality-filled, and the album images look very nice.

And May's is cute and very well drawn. I can see Terri's mouth maybe looking a bit weird, but it doesn't bother me: weird expressions go well with OFF characters anyway.

Full disclosure: it took me more than two hours to draw that, since I started on the weekend before last, and I did a bit of work in between. Also, drawing this made me learn a little more of my own limitations: the bodies were more or less copied from the original photograph, while their heads and faces were my own proper "creation". So, I have difficulty in assessing proportions just from the basic shapes; if I draw a circle for the head, it's very hard to imagine that circle as an actual head without having some features in. So, only when I try drawing a face is that I'll realise it's too big or too small. This is clearly something I must work on!

I feel a bit more at ease with myself for knowing that you didn't draw six people + all the album cover motifs in one hour. :)

I've seen established artists say there's definitely no shame in using reference pictures when drawing, so don't worry about that. Proportions are ultra hard, I know I have to work on them a lot as well.

Tried my hand at Pit of "Kid Icarus" fame pulling off some Matrix-ripoff moves.

Decided to leave his eyes pupilless, it seems suitable for angels and such beings.

EDIT: Reuploaded with more clean-up.

You've done a very good job, Chris! It's a tricky pose to pull off, but you did it well, and nice choice of subject too! Only thing I noticed is that he seems to have two left feet, but it doesn't detract from the overall picture. I also initially interpreted his eyes as being closed, which is quite cool, too. :)

So here's the piano piece I finished yesterday--now you can hear the music and follow the score! (even if you can't read sheet music, it's quite fun) Only thing is that the ending is absolutely not what I intend to do when I play it. Each piece from this cycle is based entirely on one scale, and uses only the notes of that scale; but in this one, at the end, I'll just bash on as many keys as possible in a completely improvised fashion, and I can't notate that in a convincing manner in MuseScore. But the rest of the piece is pretty much what you hear.

Well, now you know why he prefers to move around using his wings. :) Gaah *change change*

I see the "closed eyes" look, too.

Really enjoyed your song. Just a little bit unsettling, but not overly so. This is one I'll be coming back to listen to more times, I think.

They don't look too great in the photos, but I made little hoods for my Destroying Angels from Das modelling clay. Also used it to cover up the pre-moulded banner that came with the figures, so I can freehand paint the insignia of my own chapter on there.

Note that the head in the close-up hasn't been painted yet.

Yesterday, I finished the final piece from my cycle of MLP-based piano pieces, so here's the music and score for Aeolian | r. "r" stands for Rarity. Because this is the last composition in the cycle (and because this is about Rarity), it has a huge, loud finale, and at the very end, there's a reprise of all seven pieces, all played over the same note (E).

Because I can only publish five scores with a free account on Musescore, I can't put the whole cycle, but since the scores are only rough ideas of what the music sounds like, I'll put the whole thing up once it's been properly recorded.

I'm probably going to have to listen to it a couple more times, but it's beautiful. Not much more to say, really. I'd love to hear something like this on the radio. The drama suits Rarity well, and including little callbacks to the other themes is a great idea.

Also hate arbitrary usage limits on websites. Will enjoy seeing the full cycle up!

Decided to draw a scene from the backstory of my Futurama fic Alone Again, Neutrally. A teenage Zapp, having been informed of his mother going missing in action in the war against the Neutrals. Note that the actual fic is a lot less angsty than this image makes it seem.

Homer as the God-Emperor of Mankind from the Warhammer 40k game. Con-crit welcome as always.

He's disappoint because the Boy is up to something.

EDIT: Cleaned up a bit more.

Be aware that due to vacations, I won't be able to participate this Sunday, and possibly not next Sunday either.

Will be looking forward to you getting back, Chris!

And very nice, atmospheric pic may

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone’s fault. If it was Us, what did that make Me? After all, I’m one of Us. I must be. I’ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We’re always one of Us. That is really good for just an hour. Good character drawing as usual (I like how harried she looks), nice hairstyle, and very atmospheric shading. You just need to remove some construction lines and this will be pretty much perfect.
