Patrick Bateman sprite. Getting reservations to Dorsia was the best level.

EDIT: Reuploaded with better cheekbones.

I've added more to Meteorite and her quest to get past her fear of heights.

If I'm perfectly honest, I hadn't intended to go this indepth with this bit, but... it felt wrong not to.

Said this already in chat, but I really liked this bit. There is some very nice writing in the flying scene, and Rarity's fierce protectiveness is awesome and feels in character.

Every superhero deserves a good movie. Not every superhero gets one.

More Joker/Sophie art. Blood; majorly unpleasant implications.

EDIT: Forgot to say, but for posterity, Stretch's picture made me laugh out loud. Great art of course, but for some reason the cheesy tagline is my favourite part. That, and well-drawn middle-aged Wolfcastle playing Bart.

EDIT EDIT: Look at that, Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl followed by EDGE DUDE AND STABBER GIRL amirite?

Heya, just to say not in the creativity hour tonight as Sibling had come to stay for the duration of the apocalypse, and we're going to watch a film.

That sounds like an unironically good way to spend the end of the world as we know it. If inspiration strikes, you can always dedicate another hour.

The original story was published in 1842, and perhaps people then were easier to scare with the idea of a lethal pandemic that can be anywhere and has already breached your safe refuge.

Today I worked on another bit of my ongoing composition, but I worked on it several times along the week, so I'll gonna show everything I have so far. What I have here is a demo, or a sketch, of a major part of the album: The Arrival. Notice that the bulk of this work was made a few years ago, the new parts I've made this year amount to about 20% of it. Also, I call it a sketch because I want to redo some of the instrument parts, change some of the arrangement, and record a real flute instead of the Mellotron that appears several times. Also, there's no mixing or mastering done here, so the sound quality is very rough and unbalanced.

Here's the timestamps of the different parts of the suite:

00:00 - The border
01:10 - This is really happening!
04:16 - The wait
07:08 - First contact
09:48 - The road
15:00 - Second contact
18:11 - Weary Head, Warm Heart (this is a very old song that I reworked and expanded for this project)

Tried to colour. I ruined it.

Strange definition of ruin you have there. It looks great!

@Fernie: Damn, I really need to give this a good re-listen with the additional information you've given here, but it's a bit of an issue for me right now (I'm working at home now, thanks corona, so I'd have to unplug my sound system from my work laptop). But I really enjoyed it when I listened on Sunday night. It's the kind of inspiring music I might listen to when writing. Can't give much higher praise than that.

@May: I really liked the drawing when I saw it in b/w, and I think this colouring is good (I'm always impressed by people who know how to do glow effects, and this is a good one). If I have any problems with the colouring, it's that the colours are a bit... pastel and soft/bright, maybe, for such a dramatic scene. The twins' hair and outfit colouring doesn't help (I know it's their canonical colours, but still). I may be way off. Seriously, it's not ruined in the least.

Christina is listening to this in the other room, and right now I think it's up to the start of The Wait. The first two tracks are certainly evocative. The Border feels like something that would appear in old British science fiction (I'm thinking Quatermass and The Pit), which isn't a surprise, given the general state of our border control on most days. This Is Really Happening feels exactly how I would feel if I had just arrived at a place I'd never visited before. I wish I could describe more than that.

This is wonderful. Brings back a lot of great memories.
Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.
