"One Pill". An origin story for a couple of almost one-off characters from Phineas and Ferb, which you probably have to have seen for the full impact, but hopefully will eventually stand on its own. Really skeletal for the time being, so lower your expectations, but I've been wanting to get this thing started for a while.

Echoing what Steve said about Meteorite story. Sweet, funny and very well-written.

Will read Tony's fic when I have the time.

Enjoyed your fic too, Tony. Probably needed the background knowledge from Phineas and Ferb, but that's obviously not your fault. Cute and funny, and I like "a stony glare directly into his superior's soul".

Thanks Chris. Enjoyed yours, hilarious, good interaction between everyone--could have been a real scene on the show.

Very much liked the dialogue between Meteorite and Rarity, both warm and awkward, and a good setup for what's next.

So here's my writing from today. It's a scene from my planned novel, called Sonata of the Broken Hearts. Clara is visiting Gabriel in his home, and they just finished playing music.

I had a go at drawing Bick Brannigan, Zapp's dad from my fanfic Alone Again, Neutrally. He's supposed to look pretty much exactly like his son, except with darker hair (lucky for me, eh?) Really sketchy. I wanted to give him a badass command pose, but couldn't figure out how to draw it without his hand obscuring his face.

If you're interested, I based his pose on that of Commander Gaunt from the Star Wars fanfilm TIE Fighter Short Film (at 5:41, to be precise).

Here's Allison and Jessica as detectives. Sketchier than I realised it was going to be

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone’s fault. If it was Us, what did that make Me? After all, I’m one of Us. I must be. I’ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We’re always one of Us. It’s Them that do bad things. - Jingo, Terry Pratchett

I should be saying that I've been really enjoying everything everyone has done. I mean, I've been saying it in chat, but not here.

Anyhoo, next part of my weird meta as hell story.

Initially, I only planned to do the one on the left here, but then I had a bit of time left for more...

I really loved the output this weekend. The drawings were lovely, and Meteorite's story was meta as hell and engrossing as hell!

Steve: this is really well drawn, especially given the time-frame. I like the "scribbly" shading a lot.

Alex: well-written and very funny, with a hilarious (and a bit unsettling) twist.

May: again, lots of stuff drawn in that time. The creepy shadow to the right is the best part of it for me, but they're all well drawn.

Still haven't got around to finishing Fernie's snippet, will comment on it when I have time.

Read Fernie's writing as well and enjoyed it. Reading people's thoughts about art is always great, and even though I'm not a musician, a lot of it applies just as well to writing.

A nitpick is that it felt very dialogue-heavy (which seems to be true of a lot of your stories), at least at the start, making it hard for me to imagine what the scene actually looked like, but it's part of a novel, so presumably that'll be less of a problem in the finished work. Other than that, good dialogue, nice characters whose affection shines through, and lots of good observations about art and creativity.

Thank you, Chris! Considering what you said, I believe I managed to deliver the gist of the scene rather well. And you're correct, it's completely lacking in context and setting, and that's going to be fixed once I get to frame this scene within the corresponding chapter. But I admit I find it a lot of fun to flesh out characters by allowing them to talk about themselves. It's like making up, telling and hearing a story at the same time.
