I'm quite rubbish at con crit. Suffice to say I really like the pie picture :)

Is Marine Fry eating his chinstrap there? If so, perfect. :fry

Any picture involving pie will always be welcome here*. I love the way you've done the crumbly texture of said pie, and the pinkness and shininess that helps make skin look realistic. I would say, though, that using bright green for shadows doesn't work here, at least on my monitor. It looks more greeny than shadowy. Other than that, here's to more pie pics!

*Attention, Internet: no, I wouldn't post that if I were you, even though it does involve pie. Or that. And that's just geometrically impossible.

That's funny, FF1 said the same thing about the Marine Fry.  The reference photo I used showed the strap on the edge of a pointy chin.  Since Fry doesn't really have a chin, it must've slipped.

Green?  Something is weird.  I used green on her eyes and on the pie.  She is a blonde, so I used green as a base color then covered that with yellows, browns, reds, and some golds.  That's it.  Not in the shadows.  Maybe some of the ocher/umber color is showing wrong?

No more pies.  Judging by everybodys reactions I'll stick with Futurama.  P.S. The next one is another art history piece...    :fry  :leela

Ah, right, it's probably the way the colours look on my (rather pale) screen -- the lower edge of the pie and the crumb on the plate appear to have green shadows.

If you want to show that the strap's on Fry's chin, you could try drawing his bottom lip poking out above it, but I really think it's more Fryish the way it is.

No more pies? ... Ever? :E

The colouring for the "Fryscape" picture looks a bit simplistic, but you already know I like the linework. Good picture for a good story!

"Pie" is... amazing. I'd be happy to see this hanging in an art gallery.

By all means, don't stop posting your original art here. You can always make a separate thread for it, so the people who want Futurama fanart can avoid it if they want. But seriously, you, sir, are an artist.

Ooh, the most referenced Klimt painting in the Futurama fandom! And I like it, too. I'll wait with comments until you post the finished version, but suffice it to say, looks intriguing so far.

Thanks for the thoughts.  Humm, where to start?

Good catch on Fryscape.  :fry  I wasn't too interested in any really involved color show.  The main thrust was Red_Lines versions of Fry, so I kept it very simple.

The Pie drawing was actually a Christmas present for my niece, that's her daughter with the pie.  I think that makes Caldonia my grand-niece.  She was finally able to pick the drawing up today, and it felt good to see her reaction.  I was nervous about posting a non-Simps/Futura thing here.  But the feedback has been good.

Big time thanks for the artist comment.  But I'm no better or worse than anybody else here.  (excuse me, I have to go and blush for a bit.)  ;D

I looked at several of Klimits' paintings and went with this one just because it was most recognizable.  Ironically enough over on my DA site somebody called it "obscure".  Finished version?  (splutter, splutter)  Oh, if I should...  8)

Over on my DA site I'm doing a "Pin-up-a-day" for a week.  This is the pencil layout/practice for the last drawing.  If things go as I hope it'll be posted on Sunday.

Hope you like it.    :leela

I'm loving it. But that's predictable. ;D

Let me tease you for a couple of days.  The color version is finished, done, ready to go.  On Sunday, no earlier.

Oh yes, did I use Amy? or LaBarbara? or Leela?  Gee, I forgot...
