A short fic written as a Christmas present for Missy. Marge, after her kids have all left the nest.

Slice-of-life, tiny bit of drama. Prose format.

read it, very sweet. I was going to say bittersweet, but it has a good ending.
Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.

Holy crap, Chris - this is so completely amazing. The desperation just permeates the whole piece; Marge's fear that the kids will get hurt out there even as they settle into respectable careers, the way she finally gathers her strength and reclaims her life and starts painting! Her understandable and in-character anxiety and depression. Homer as her rock, being supportive and giving her her space. And her ART. And the emotion and the sadness and ahh; it made ME tear up because I so want her to find a way to joy post-motherhood.

This is beautiful, perfect. Thank you so much for it!
