A New Challenger Appears!
This will be my first foray into Futurama fanfiction, and I may not have anything set in my mind to work with, but here I am.

Feels kinda pointless since I don't actually do stuff at Gaia, so I'm putting it here.

Defeated...
And there I go. I'm dropping out, I'm very sorry to say. I've not been focused on this competition at all, and I've absolutely no idea where to begin. Which is a shame because it looks like this is going to be an excellent competition.
Ah well, perhaps I'll be more motivated (and less terrified by college work) next time.

Yeah, I'm a bit sad to hear that. But I can understand the pressure of offsite life, and it's good that you're quitting of your own free will instead of letting it drive you crazy (not meant to sound patronising, that's my own reaction to this sort of thing).
At least now I don't have to compete against such writers as Alex.

S'too bad, Alex! I hope one day you'll try out writing 'Frama.

Yeah, it's fun.
Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.

By all means, you should give it a go. It is fun.
Maybe making your first foray into writing entering a competition wan't the best strategy...sort of like running a marathon without preparing for it.
Be that as it may, please do post your stories and enjoy yourself!

Re: A New Challenger Appears!
I wouldn't exactly say I'm new to writing in general. I've just not focused on Futurama as my subject before. To borrow from your simile, it's like running on concrete for years, only to come up against people who've trained on grass. Same mechanics, but completely different terrain.Ramon 51 wrote: Maybe making your first foray into writing entering a competition wan't the best strategy...sort of like running a marathon without preparing for it.
But thanks all the same, to all of you. I do hope to try writing Futurama sometime in the future.
