Call for beta readers: "The Book of Beasts"

Post by c_nordlander » Fri Feb 17, 2012 12:43 am

Just wondering if anyone would like to beta-read the latest draft of my thriller "The Book of Beasts". Some of you have already read previous drafts, in which case I owe you a lot of thanks. (If you've read it before, I've toned down the violence, though there's still a fair amount, and given it a more dramatically appropriate ending.)

I don't want anyone to feel forced into this: beta-reading is damn tough work. If you want to, though, drop me a line and I'll email you the novel. (It's ca 266 pages, but that's double-spaced.)

I would be happy to have any critique before 29 February, which is when I'm sending it to a publisher. EDIT:This has changed; I will be happy for criticism up until the end of March. As usual, no criticism is too small or too big: I'll be grateful for any problems you find.

Content warnings: torture (off-page), injuries, sexual obsession (nothing very graphic).

Like I said, drop me a line and I'll send it to you. I can unfortunately only pay potential beta readers in gratitude, but there'll be a lot of the same.

I'm game!

Dunno if I can get the whole thing read by Feb 29, but I'll give a go.

Again, as with most of us, time can be tight...but I'd still like to see what you're writing.

I read the first section at work this week...it was wonderful, and made me think of how I would describe my childhood. Very good build-up of the characters.
