Oh, there was a thread already! Shoulda know better than to doubt Stretch's diligence.

Well, it was pretty long and probably stupid but I don't usually have that much to say. Honest.

Sounds like you have a point, May (though I haven't seen the episode in question). Thing is, I get the feeling that the writers see Marge as essentially boring. Which isn't a good sign for a fictional character you're writing.

And Fernando, *thank you* for saying that.

That is probably the other problem, that they didn't see Marge for any of her actual traits and just as "plot device who's role is to be right by default" (and that's another thing I hate. Really plot devices and such that I hate and alternatives could probably fill a thread alone.) Actually now that I think of it, that's kind of a frequent problem for the show, viewing characters pretty much solely as devices to be shaped as the plot demands instead of letting the characters shape the plot.

All this talk just makes me wish I could even make a start on writing...

Well, my views on the show since Season 9 have been made fairly clear...

Start writing! That's the only way you'll get better. My first stories were abysmal, but that was training I had to get through.
