Kerry Washington joins The Simpsons as Edna's replacement

Huh, don't know her work, but interesting. Kind of weird they're only adding a new teacher character after so long, though.

Just dunno how she'll work longterm, apparently she's a more positive and supportive teach but most of the earlier class scenes with Krabappel always worked because of a semi-antagonistic relationship with her and the others (well, mainly Bart). Still, there's some gag ideas in there they'll probably never do. Like, say, twins trying to get Bart into trouble but Bart gets off lightly instead of getting detention much to their shared confusion or something...

Yeah, the whole "positive and supportive teacher" thing feels unusual for Springfield Elementary. Still, that doesn't mean she's going to be idealised. They might make her one of those overly idealistic young "how can I reeeeeeeeeach these kids" teachers who end up completely crushed by the students.
