What, you didn't *know* Lisa was an 8th level sorceress?
I'm doing this in scratchboard; this is merely a rough draft, and questions, comments, and derogatory remarks are welcome.

Re:Not Bob
Hey, that's a neat picture!
Re:Not Bob
Yes. Neat picture indeed. I usually don't like that format at all, but you made it work for me with this, so thanks.
You should make a bit of fanfiction to go with that picture 'cause it's just dying for a plot to attatch to (in my own biased opinion ).

Re:Not Bob
Oooh... reminds me of Stan's "A Lesson Learnt".
Very neat. Maybe a little crude, but hey, it's scratchboard. (And we need more art that's not just sketches/colouring.) I particularly love the very realistic texture of her staff. In fact, immense work seems to have gone into this.
I'm not good at giving constructive criticism. I'm not sure about the lighting, but it looks great.
Good work, Mel!

Very good! It's a neat idea. I'm not really sure about the lighting either, but it's still cool.
One thing, though: I think Lisa's head should be rounder.

Re:Not Bob
Well, since this is the critic's corner, we should give some hints and advices - Lisa's head seems a bit large, and her arms and legs are somewhat thin. But otherwise, well done and very moody with those hard contrasts and shadings.
Re:Not Bob
The part of her that's in the lightning looks very neat, the strong shadow/light contrast gives the pic an eery feel (like it's supposed to, i guess). The wand has been done greatly too. The major flaw in the pic, incidentally, its the same as its major upside. In fact, imo, the lightning is not "constant" enough, since there is a strong light, a uniform "gray" pattern on the rest of Lisa, but a strong darkness on the side of Lisa that's totally out of the light is missing (except for the background), making the good 3d effect less marked.
Then again it could be a way to make Lisa's face and torch-hand stand out more from the rest, so my comment may go easily trashed.
Good picture, anyway, it "works" very well.

Re:Not Bob
I guess Marco and Andreas said all the criticism that should probably be said, 'cause I'm clueless on what to say, as far as criticism is concerned. But I really liked the pic.

Re:Not Bob
Here's the final version of this picture (and thanks for the comments, guys). This one's the version that I actually did on scratchboard; the sketch was in my notebook. I fixed (or tried to fix) the lighting issue I had with her face, so...
