Simpsons and Friends?!! NO!!!
From http://www.megastar.co.uk/ents/news/2004/05/18/sMEG01MTA4NDg3NjcyNTk.html
Simpsons get Friends
Hold on, come back! The cast of Friends are getting together for one more project - they will voice six gay characters in an episode of The Simpsons.
We told you they couldn't split up our favourite buddies. Or rather, we'd never get rid of them.
Or perhaps they can't find any other work? Take your pick.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox Arquette, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer have all agreed to provide voices for guests at a gay holiday resort, accidentally booked by Homer.
"It will be the first time since the show went off air that they'll all be working together.
"The writing team has worked overtime to produce the perfect script. It's funny but shocking, with all six playing gay characters," a so-called 'source' blabbed to the Daily Star.
'Gay' characters! George Bush will have it taken of air, mark our words.
LeBlanc, who is busy telling the world about his spin-off sitcom Joey, was unsurprisingly, the first to sign on.
"Matt LeBlanc was the first to agree to do it as he is hoping to get publicity for his spin-off sitcom Joey. The others followed his lead.
"Since FOX, the network that produces The Simpsons, is airing the Super Bowl in 2005, it's likely the episode will be shown after the game ends."
Rumours that the cast demanded the same salary they used to get for starring in Friends, are completely made up by us.
----------
God, I hope this isn't true! I don't know about you guys, but this has to be the worst case of trendy, inappropriate guest stars ever! Obviously a ratings ploy if it is true, and even though they aren't playing themselves, haven't we had enough gay-themed or semi-gay-themed episodes lately? I just think it's really stupid.

NO.
Anywhoodlydoodle, that's my two cents.
I agree wholeheartedly. IMO, it's very annoying. Not quite as annoying as awkwardly written-in guest stars, but it's getting there.haven't we had enough gay-themed or semi-gay-themed episodes lately? I just think it's really stupid.
I also agree with this. They could've at least waited a year or so... this is just... yeah.I don't know about you guys, but this has to be the worst case of trendy, inappropriate guest stars ever!

Lets consider the source...
This "Megastar" website is the web arm of the Daily Star newspaper, a Sun wannabe without the strict editorial control and lighthearted columns about life's foibles. Seriously, you could tell them Elvis had a sex romp with your gay sister and they'd print it as news. They're sort of a legitimising upgrade to the National Enquirer... Take whatever they say with a huge pinch of salt. Good Simpsons's news is probably going to be found in The Sun, after all, since they're part of the Murdoch empire.

Our choicest plans have fallen through, our airiest castles tumbled over, because of lines we neatly drew and later neatly stumbled over.

I think I'll have to agree with Graham. Until the news comes out of a source that is more reliable than the Star, I'm guessing this ain't gonna happen.
It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone’s fault. If it was Us, what did that make Me? After all, I’m one of Us. I must be. I’ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We’re always one of Us. It’s Them that do bad things. - Jingo, Terry Pratchett

I'm still skeptical, too. Come on, that's a little bit too evil, even for FOX.
I don't want to believe.

This sounds like a sick April's Fools joke. I am going to suspend my rage until I know this for sure.
But even if this is a rumour, the mere fact that *someone* thinks these things up... ergh.

Re:Simpsons and Friends?!! NO!!!
IT GETS EVEN WORSE!
From http://www.megastar.co.uk/site/today/ne ... _bart.html
Bart to lose cherry
DROP my shorts! Cartoon tearaway Bart Simpson is about to lose his virginity.
An older "Mrs Robinson" type will seduce the brat in the first Simpsons movie.
A show source revealed: "One of Bart's catchphrases is 'Eat my shorts'. But in the movie, he won't be wearing any!"
Series executive David Mirkin admitted that the Simpsons would be going Xrated for the movie version.
He said: "I see lots of Simpson sex in the movie."
___________
Dead link, you say? That's probably because Megastar reported the above story on March 22, 2001.

*sigh* Thanks for bringing that nasty old rumor back, Soren.

Hooray for Journalistic Integrity!
EDIT : People need to MST a collection of all these old Tabloid rumours.
Sources close to Principal Skinner claim he is "even more devastated than usual."An older "Mrs Robinson" type will seduce the brat in the first Simpsons movie.

Re:Simpsons and Friends?!! NO!!!
Both news stories sound fake to me.
Before continuing, it may be in your best interest, dear reader, to stop and ponder this. Picture it in your mind's eye. An evil one-eyed midget named Cheatum swam across the Gulf of Mexico wearing a shark fin on his back and then planted a bomb on a boat. Think about that. Let that sink in. Now. Wouldn't you want to buy a wrestling show after seeing this?
