"Lisa With The Green Thumb" (unfinished)

Post by KANG » Fri Jun 03, 2005 8:55 pm

Is started a picture and want to post it, so I you can tell me some nitpics and suggestions before it is finisehd!  :)
It is about to become a Lisa picture taking place in a dark, gery, squere building city with very strange and emotionless people around Lisa on a rainy day.

I got that far...

LISA: Seems the Matrix got me...

Very promising sketch, Frank. Keep it up! I'm sure colored version will look great.
And yes, I liked the subject.

I was JUST thinking that! :D

The pic is very well done and pretty much everything looks spot on to me. The only flaw however, is Lisa's hands. They seem way to bony and her fingers seem too long. Just fix those and finish the pic so we can all admire it. ;D

I'd agree there. I'd also say her right upper arm is too long. It looks a little disconnected from the rest of her body.

That aside it's looking good. Like the way you've drawn the spikes of her dress, and her expression is spot on. The people in the background all look good too.

Other than the flaws that has been mentioned, I noticed that Lisa only has 7 spikes, instead of 8. But maybe that's intentional, or your style.

In all, looking good. Very good, in fact. Can't wait to see this finished.

Very good piece Frank, this is the first picture I have seen from you and will like to see more, ;) but colour this one first. I love lisa's expression.

Wow, I really have to comment more on the art that is posted here... *looks for excuses*

Anyway, the pic looks very promising, and Lisa is just adorable.  :) Aside from the things mentioned above, I'd check her feet/shoes; her right one (the one on the left) seems a bit small compared to the other (even if it is considered a perspective thingy). You may also want to check the perspective of the surrounding buildings; esp. the balcony on the right side seems a bit awkward.

You know, it's funny, but giving her 7 spikes instead of 8 really changes the character. It seems to add to the sadness somehow, like she's not complete inside. Interesting...

Thanks for the postings, people. I think there are really some parts of the pic I´ll have to fix. I guess I completly redraw the pic. Especially the people in the backround are too... cartoonish, mh. It is meant as a sad pic, so no, I repeat, NO coloration - this will be a very moody pencil shading.  :)

For the people who like to see my latest coloration: Look at the multible choice thread, I didn´t expacted that less answers for that moch work of coloring...  :-\ No coloring anymore for the next time...  :'(

For the 7 spikies I drew Lisa, I guess they made her look younger, right?

Going to start redrawing.... NOW!

D´oh! Sorry guys, I´ll stop finishing the picture now. Maybe I completly redraw it some day, but it doesn´t came out how I wanted - I wanted to draw something Marco asked me to do, but I am not satisfied with it...  :-[

Don´t worry, I am still in drawing. The next days (or hours?) you´ll see something much MUCH better...  :D

And that´s how far I came this time:

I doubt it. There are a lot of tall square towers in the world.

Never knew the WTC stood in Springfield... and there are about 12 of them...

Anyway, you two, how do you like the picture?  :)

I'm sure springfield has a WTC all of its own. They have everything else... :)

Anyway, the details are what get me. You seem able to cram a lot of detail in to your pictures. Makes me jealous, it does. :)

Maybe those slick goons should look behind them. Or at least duck and cover... (Where’s the Springfield Voluntary Fire Department when you need ‘em?)
