Walkcycle

Post by Sheana_Molloy » Fri Nov 11, 2005 2:45 am

The walkcycle I did for my Animation I class.  Finally got the bugger scanned, since Flipbook doesn't want to export AVIs properly on non-school computers for me!

16 drawings on 16 pieces of paper, looped in a .GIF.  It kinda twinges a bit when the .GIF stops and starts over again (bah), but other than that I think it came out okay. :)

Trace said he didn't see himself as an icon, but wanted to be a logo. Frank settled for being a font.

Impressive! I did notice a bit of a jolt, but other than that it looks very realistic and thought-through.
Pretty little baby
Pretty little monster
Went to the good school
Left with honours
Brand new tycoon
Sitting with a harpoon

Yeah, that jolt comes between the last and first frame of the animation, I dunno how to make it not do that.  Stupid .GIF...

Thanks, guys. :)  Only worthwhile animation I have on hand, really...

wow! It's really hypnotic!
I have never properly animated, except for doodling in the corners in my chemistry book.  The furthest I've ever done is animate a lions paw in walking motion.  It may have looked weird but it worked and now I'm thinking about taking up animation myself, except I'm not sure if I have the right equipment, I should proberbly get a light box :)
Anyway, it looks cool X)

Yay, fun! Nicely done
Too bad your teacher won't let you animate a designed character yet.
I finished my jumping character this week. I'll try to scan & linetest at home if I'm not too lazy or busy :)

But for now let's just walk on hand in hand as we conquer the world of animation:

Aaaa, they're walking together!  [is very amused]

Lookin' forward to it, Matty!  The professor just wanted us to learn the basic body movement first, to make sure that we got the basics down pat before we drive ourselves insane trying to do a detailed character. :)
