Re: Creativity Hour works thread
Just a concept sketch this week. I'll admit a Wonder Twins nod isn't horribly creative, but I've had this loose idea in my head for Sherri and Terri within the "Stretch Dude & Clobber Girl" universe. My idea is that they have teleportation powers, but they can only use it to switch places with each other (hence why their respective triangles are pointing at each other). They think it's way more impressive than other people do.
I'll probably come back to them later to add some more originality to their costumes.

The twins look very on-model (I just noticed their different insignia), and their concept is pure hilarity.

Re: Creativity Hour works thread
Rather late, but I finally bothered to look up how to transfer images from my Switch to my computer, so here's the doodle I did in Splatoon 3 for last creativity. The current Splatfest theme is whether you would bring Gear, Grub, or Fun to a deserted island, and with the team I joined, one thing kept coming to mind...

Re: Creativity Hour works thread
That’s really good! Great reference

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone’s fault. If it was Us, what did that make Me? After all, I’m one of Us. I must be. I’ve certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We’re always one of Us. It’s Them that do bad things. - Jingo, Terry Pratchett

Re: Creativity Hour works thread
Another one of "those" jobs came through the shop. And landed squarely in my lap. These two canvases were delivered to us, and boss said "Mike, stretch these, like paintings are.". On wooden stretcher bars, the whole bit.
Well, there was a problem.
Both of these are approximately 6 foot tall and 16 feet long (maybe 2 meters by 5). Big, too big. They were so big it was hard to get decent photos. (I laid them on the floor and took the photos from the loft.) We did a mock-up to see if it was possible to carry them up a flight of stairs. Nope. Didn't even make it onto the stairwell landing. The required change of plans. I suggested the idea of hanging them like giant curtain rods. Client liked it.
One of the canvases was too large for the wall and had to be trimmed. Cutting this thing wasn't as easy as it sounds. There were no absolute straight edges anywhere, but still had to be cut square. I grabbed a 15-foot piece of extrusion, some framing squares, huge tape measures, and with a lot of luck I got 'em square.
Some W.I.P. bits. We hung the smallest first, figuring that would be the easiest and good practice. It was. Smallest was maybe 17 inches wide. Then the second smallest next, still maybe 8 1/2 feet wide.
Finally, we went after the big guy. A full 16 feet long, a total beast. I used a heavy aluminum tube, one inch diameter with 1/8-inch wall. It sagged. But I was ready. I had a center bracket built specifically for this problem. It worked. We measured about four times to place the bracket centered on the wall and the correct height. Then measured maybe eight times to place the outside brackets. If they were too close or too far away the tube wouldn't fit. Well, I mis-figured and missed. By a whopping 1/8". D'ang! A couple corrections later it fit.
Done! Client very happy, I was very relieved.
P.S. For all the sharp-eyed people out there. Notice that I cut the one panel into three sections but only installed two? We caught a break. The client didn't have a location selected for it, so we merely handed it to her, and she'll have her facility people hang it. Well hopefully her facility people can hang it. i hate coming back and fixing other people's mistakes.

A quick doodle. The morning after a rather empowering Halloween, Lisa belatedly realizes the downside to her new super strength: Nothing fits anymore.

Heh, perfect for a doodle. My one complaint is that her legs seem a bit short, but then again, that might go with the whole "heroic build" thing.
