@Steve: Thanks for reading! I have plenty of ideas, so there'll definitely be more.

@May: I totally understand that feeling of pressure. Come in only if you want; you know we all appreciate and admire your art either way.

A Groening-style rendition of the intro cinematic of awesome game Darkest Dungeon.

I take no credit for the narration, it's straight from the game.

EDIT: Con-crit welcome!

More on my Warhammer 40,000 fanfic "The Dagger-Bearers".

If you've read the previous segment, the new bit starts with "He was seventeen; he didn’t have to become a Navigator until the start of autumn."

read updated version here

Picture of my 40k character Viva Devastatio, prior to Astartes-isation. I've posted art of her before here and here, but today, the white hood comes off. Metaphorically, that is.

Con-crit welcome as always.

EDIT: Improved version for fighting the evil anti-male agenda everywhere.

EDIT EDIT: You saw nothing. There was nothing there.

I didn't know what to draw, so I drew a cat wearing the Infinity Gauntlet.

Meant to be the battle training room in the Destroying Angels' chapter-house from my Warhammer 40k mini-story Cathedra's Last Night Out. Content warning: monochrome statue nipples.

All con-crit gratefully accepted.

It's hard for me to offer con-crit here, because anatomy is not my strength, and this looks like one of those cases where are these little problems that don't look too off when you look at them closely, but when seen at a distance, the off-ness clearly is there. I can see, for example, that the right arm of the statue on the right is out of proportion, but these are statues representing a physical ideal (as you said on chat), so if it looks too big and muscular, it's not necessarily a problem. But it connects to the torso in an odd way, so it ends up looking like a mistake.

From my experience, this is the kind of drawing that's hard for me to make because it necessitates looking at a lot of references, and doing a ton of research, because there's so much going on. And because they're statues, I think the purpose is less to make them look like they're actually fighting, and more like they're representing strength, so there's a kind of "lyricism" that you wouldn't capture if you looked for refs on actual fighting stances, which are all about motion and impact. In other words, I really admire the ambition here! And I know this usually sounds like a "consolation prize" kind of comment, but no, I think it's a really cool pic that has some unfortunate, visible flaws.

And yeah, anatomy is a cruel mistress. Even when a problem can be easy to describe, it might be absurdly tough to fix. Even when you don't need to get into hardcore details like the way bones and muscles work, it's still tricky. I really would like to see another attempt at this. Maybe try doing bigger, more detailed full page drawings of each of the statues? I just like the idea so much.

EDIT: Thought I'd make an update on my own creativity, but I did quite a bunch of work in Shoot Across the Sky, which shall be one of the songs from an EP. I have to work hard on this arrangement, because I want it to sound like a legit pop song--bouncy and sparkling, but also very emotional and heartfelt. I gotta say it's looking neat so far.

Thank you for your thought-out comment! I realise critiquing art is about as difficult as making it. I think you're right, I just need to practice, practice, practice.

And you're making me very interested in hearing your song. I'm looking forward to it.

I like the azalea. It's evocative.

I also did a thing!
