Typo check: "Rodriguez" should have a G in it. But I love his new name.

I just want to say how great it is that we've already had a good bunch of entries and that lots of new artists have started visiting. *waves*.

Right, the story so far:

milksong: ‘FUTURE PEOPLE are Macho Men’
This one made me giggle a lot (especially at Farnsworth’s cowboy slippers). Characters are a little off-model but easily recognisable. As far as the theme goes: some career switches are easier to understand than others: Bender as a construction worker seems pretty natural, but I don’t understand from the pic why Fry would be a Native American, unless they’re actually reforming the Village People for reasons unknown. Still, I can almost hear Zoidberg shouting, “No, world! You put your hands up!”

I like your drawing style – I can’t speak for the judge/s but I’m glad we’re getting a mix of Groening and non-Groening styles in this comp. The first pic’s probably my favourite, featuring Leela’s famous depth perception, and it’s easier to see what’s on the new career chips. I can’t decide whether Bender is scarier as a hippie or a… hmm, Hypnotoad-tamer?


iamtherealbender: untitled1 / ‘Planet X-press-Men’
I’m guessing the first pic got beaten up by the scanner: the writing and other details are hard to make out, although fortunately I can still see the Crushinator. I’m not familiar with PotC or X-Men so I can’t say much about roles, but the second pic is my favourite of the two: lots of  detail and clearly a lot of work involved in combining two large sets of different characters.


gwynhwyfar: ‘Leela’
I think this pic would be better off in the general Art or Art Help boards rather than as a competition entry: unless there’s a backstory we haven’t seen, it doesn’t suit the theme. (Maybe she was the only one to keep her job? Wouldn’t surprise me). But don’t get me wrong; having new art and artists is always a good thing. 


mrgrotey: ‘Teenage Mutant Futurama Heroes’
One of my favourites so far: dynamic, detailed, and about five seconds ‘til at least one of them dies horribly. The skin and hair needs shading as well as the clothing, but the extra-shiny effect on Bender is wonderful.

Smokin Joe: 'Sunset in Cydonia'
Another favourite. Excellent drawing, good use of characters, and a very plausible story. I love Amy’s little lapbuggalo. Background, costumes, liquored-up Kif – everything’s good.

Welcome, Genghis! Feel free to pillage some of these tacky welcoming gifts.

To post a picture, just go to Reply and, when at the post screen, click "Additional options" below the text window. You will get the option to attach a file. Press "browse" to search for the file you want to upload. Only certain file formats are postable (jpg is probably best for the picture). Hope this helped.

That's an excellent idea! Leela and to a lesser extent Fry are a bit off-model, but Bender, the Professor and Nibbler are great (even if Nibbler looks a bit big). Very professional colouring and everything.

@E. Payne: ooh, I enjoyed this picture. Particularly Leela's and Amy's outfits look good, and I love the idea of Hermes as a pro wrestler and Zoidberg as President (more love for Zoidberg!). In fact, all the occupations are very original choices, except for the one that isn't. My only nitpick is that Zoidberg's left (our right) pincer is huge, but apart from that, everyone is on model.

We're seeing some very interesting occupation choices here. Keep up the good work, peoples!
